After keeping a low profile since falling victim to a Paris jewellery heist in October, Kim Kardashian stepped out in public on Wednesday (14 December) for a night out with the girls.

The 35-year-old appeared to be back to her usual glamorous self as she joined her mother Kris Jenner, sister Kendall Jenner and friend Maria Menounos as well as Kate Hudson, Courteney Cox, Tom Hanks' wife Rita Wilson and Kathy Griffin at Shelli Azoff's Christmas party at The Forum in Los Angeles, Mail Online reports.

With her poker-straight hair, Kim looked preened and polished as she interacted with host Shelli, who is the wife of music manager Irving Azoff.

Kim, who has in recent months shunned the spotlight and been absent from social media, also made a return to Instagram to plug her kimojis, suggesting that she may be ready to return to public life.

The Selfish author was last seen in public going out for a frozen yogurt with BFF Jonathan Cheban in Beverly Hills on October 25, but has been largely reclusive, avoiding red carpet events and social media.

It's been a turbulent time for Kim. While she was still recovering from her ordeal after being gagged and bound and held at gunpoint, husband Kanye West was admitted to a psychiatric ward in Los Angeles after displaying "erratic and paranoid behaviour." While the reality star remained by her husband's bedside during his recovery, the pair has since been the focus of speculation following reports of marital discord.

A source told People that the couple, who have two children together, North, 3, and son Saint, 1, - will be spending the Christmas holidays together, despite feeling the strain of recent events.

"Kim still denies they are getting a divorce, but things are definitely not great between her and Kanye," said a source. "Kim acts annoyed. She seems miserable and is spending a lot of time with her family."

A representative from E! who produce the family reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians earlier denied reports that the couple are on the brink of divorce, insisting that they are supporting each other through trying times.
