Lumia Denim to roll out by year end: Other Windows Phone 8.1 devices to get update in early 2015

Microsoft has reportedly confirmed that the most anticipated Lumia Denim update with enhancements from Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 for Windows Phone devices will arrive later this year.

There have been several reports suggesting that the Lumia Denim update was expected in November, which did not turn true. Even Microsoft has confirmed, alongside the Lumia Denim features announcement, that the update would be available in the fourth quarter of this year.

Now Finish site, Puhelinvertailu, quoting a statement issued by the Microsoft Lumia Finland Facebook account, reports that the Lumia Denim update for Windows Phone devices running Lumia Cyan is due next year following testing by carrier operators.

Meanwhile, Windows Central is claimed to have reached out to Microsoft to verify the information.

"Lumia Denim update is being tested in selected markets ahead of broader rollout, which begins later this year as planned. It is expected to be available for all Lumia smartphones running Windows Phone 8.1 early 2015, following partner testing and approval," said Microsoft.

The Lumia Denim update is expected to start with Lumia 930 and Lumia 1520, as Lumia 535, Lumia 730, Lumia 735 and Lumia 830 already ship with the upgrade.
