Who Was Mackayla 'Kash' Paige? Key Facts About the 'Real West Coast Baddies' Star Shot Dead in Oakland
The 29-year-old was shot early on Sunday after sharing videos from a night out, while police continue investigating the circumstances and possible motive.

Mackayla Paige, the reality TV personality known to fans as Kash, was fatally shot in downtown Oakland in the early hours of Sunday, 11 October. According to reports, she had shared videos from a night out on her Instagram Stories on Saturday.
Paige was 29. Police have arrested a woman from nearby Richmond in connection with the shooting, but authorities have not publicly identified her or said what led to it.
Who Was Kash?
Paige was known to viewers by her nickname, Kash, and appeared on several reality television series, including Real West Coast Baddies, RoomH8z and Young & Reckless. Her television appearances helped introduce her to audiences, although the available reporting does not establish the size of her following or how much of it came from those programmes.
Away from television, Paige had ambitions to build a career of her own. Her cousin, Nicky Clayton, told KTVU that Paige wanted to become famous and hoped to establish herself as a reality television star.
'She wanted to be famous so bad,' Clayton said, describing her cousin's determination to make a name for herself.
Paige also wanted to start her own business. According to Clayton, she had modelled for a number of companies and hoped to work in makeup, suggesting that her plans extended beyond her television appearances.

The rule concerns an initial court appearance, not a deadline for publicly identifying a suspect.
The arrested woman's current custody status and any scheduled court appearance have not been confirmed in the reporting available for this article. The statutory timetable should therefore not be treated as a confirmed schedule for this case.
