David Moyes
Could David Moyes be set to add Carlos Mane to his contingent?

Manchester United have sent scouts to check on Sporting Lisbon's teen sensation Carlos Mane.

After handing teenager Adnan Januzaj a chance with the senior side this season David Moyes has had his faith repaid with the winger standing tall amongst the senior side and committing to the club for five years.

And with that in mind the United manager is reportedly keen to build on a young backbone, and the Daily Mirror reports that he is seriously considering adding Mane to the fold at Old Trafford.

At 19 years of age Mane is already showing much potential for Sporting, who are currently pushing for first place in the Portuguese table.

He's already been noticed by his national side, playing throughout Portugal's youth set-up and most recently being a regular member of the under 19 squad.

Mane has now featured twice for the Sporting senior side, helping the club to a win on both occasions, and has garnered the attentions of United scouts as a result.

While United have an abundance of forwards in their senior line-up at present Moyes is believed to be trying to offload Federico Macheda, who has said himself that he is looking for a January loan in order to secure an permanent exit from the club.

And with Mane's ability to play across a number of attacking positions Moyes might be keen to experiment with his talents if he were to make the move to United.

Mane will be following in Cristiano Ronaldo's footsteps if he heads from Sporting to United; the now Real Madrid-superstar also went through the Portuguese side's youth system before making the move to Old Trafford at the age of 18 as an attacking talent for the future.
