Mariah Carey may have not found her happy ever after with Nick Cannon, but she may have just found herself Prince Charming.

According to TMZ, the Hero songstress's romance with billionaire James Packer is going so well that the couple are considering marriage.

The site reports that the Australian businessman is besotted with the 45-year-old powerhouse vocalist and wants to make her his wife as soon as her divorce from Cannon is finalised.

Packer, who is the son of the late media mogul Kerry Packer, is worth an estimated $4.7bn (£2.9bn). He is the seventh richest man in Australia.

A source says that although Carey is still recovering from the heartbreak of her failed marriage, she is open to walking down the aisle for the second time.

Carey and Cannon, who have two children together, confirmed their split in August 2014, revealing they were living apart. Weeks later, Cannon replaced his enormous "Mariah" tattoo with a giant Jesus inking. Cannon, 34, is said to have filed for divorce in December of that year.

While the former lovebirds have remained cordial for the sake of their three-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, Carey recently released break-up track Infinity confirming that there was no love lost between the pair.

In the song she slams Cannon as "corny" and seemingly takes credit for her former spouse's career, without mentioning his name.

She sings: "Talkin' 'bout you're mad, could it be that you just lost the best you've ever had," while she later adds: "Boy you actin' so corny like Fritos, wouldn't have none of that without me, though.

"Is it lack of ice got you so cold? Have you ever felt this on your own? Why you tryin' to play like you're so grown? Everything you own boy you still owe."

Despite their frosty relationship Cannon admitted that he would "never say never" when asked by TMZ whether a reconciliation between the pair was on the cards.
