The Mentalist Season 7: Jane and Lisbon Face Red John Like Killer in Series Finale, First Three Episodes Synopses Released

The Mentalist will premiere its seventh and final season on 30 November 2014 and some interesting new details regarding the series finale have surfaced online.

Looks like the popular series will conclude with a very 'Red John sort of storyline' as Jane and Lisbon will down a menacing serial killer. It's "a very fitting way to go out considering Jane and Lisbon's Red John past," reports Enstarz.

According to TV Line, the new serial killer will go by the name of Lazarus and the final two episodes will conclude his story arc. An exterminator by trade, Lazarus conceals "psychopathic tendencies underneath his unprepossessing exterior", states the website.

The Mentalist Season 7 will have 13 episodes, with the Lazarus story unfolding in episode 12 titled "Brown Shag Carpet," before moving on to its ultimate conclusion in the untitled series finale. The final two episodes are set to air on the same night.

Nothing But Blue Skies

Jane and Lisbon decide to keep their new relationship a secret from their colleagues as they investigate the murder of an undercover agent. Also, young, ambitious agent Michelle Vega joins the team.

The Graybar Hotel

Lisbon goes undercover as a prison inmate in order to get a convict to turn on her boyfriend, who is the leader of a high-end car theft ring.

Orange Blossom Ice Cream

Jane and Lisbon travel to Beirut where they must work with Jane's familiar adversary Erica Flynn, who agrees to help the FBI apprehend her boyfriend, a courier for terrorist organisations, in exchange for amnesty for her past crimes.

The Mentalist Season 7 premieres on 30 November at 9:30 pm ET/9 pm PT on CBS.
