Metallica Takes Sphere by Storm in Las Vegas – Full Details of October Residency

The legendary rock band Metallica announced their upcoming 'Life Burns Faster' residency at the iconic Sphere in Las Vegas, scheduled for eight shows on 1, 3, 15, 17, 22, 24, 29 and 31 October 2026, according to a released report by Fox 5.

The Californian metal icons will perform live favourites and surprises from their extensive catalogue, enhanced by the Sphere's immersive technology. The residency will continue the No Repeat Weekend format for Thursdays and Saturdays introduced during the 2023 M72 World Tour.

Lars Ulrich, the co-founder and drummer said that the idea came to his mind and almost immediately after Sphere's opening night with U2 in 2023. 'About 12 seconds into the opening night... I thought, ''We have to do this, it's completely uncharted territory!'" he said. He added that the residency provides a fresh way for the band to engage with fans in a live setting.

On 6 March at 10 a.m. PT, two nights of No Repeat Weekend packages and single-night tickets will go on sale.

The residency, titled 'Life Burns Faster', draws its name from a lyric in James Hetfield's Master of Puppets. After taking up residence at the venue, Metallica joins the ranks of artists such as U2, Dead & Company, No Doubt, Eagles and Phish.

Having joined Metallica in 2003, bassist Robert Trujillo addressed long-standing rumours of a Sphere residency during an interview with SiriusXM's Trunk Nation in August last year. Trujillo said he welcomed the opportunity, believing the venue's atmosphere would perfectly complement the band's music.

'I'm already imagining the possibilities,' he said. 'Metallica's music is so visual. Imagine a song like Orion and what you could do with it—there's so much potential. For me, it's a dream come true. We're talking about it and hopefully it's going to happen.'
