Miley Cyrus might just be getting the wild wedding of her dreams, as reports emerge that she is set to tie the knot with boyfriend Liam Hemsworth this summer. While the 23-year-old has been flashing an engagement ring around town since the pair rekindled their relationship in December 2015, there has been no formal announcement that they were planning to make it official.
However, it is now thought, that the couple's recent getaway to Liam's native Australia, was intended to finalise the arrangements for a summer beach wedding. They were reportedly seen looking at possible wedding venues in Byron Bay according to Mail Online, during their trip Down Under in April. A source told UsWeekly: "They were discussing potential venues and looking around."
And while Liam may have drawn the line at Miley's plans for a marijuana-themed wedding, chances are the Wrecking Ball singer, who is renowned for her outrageous style, will not be quite the traditional blushing bride as she walks down the aisle. The former Disney star apparently wants a carnival inspired celebration.
"Miley's mentioned that she's also interested in having a bunch of bouncy houses. Like at a carnival," said the source.
During the trip to Australia, in a sign that she was formally being welcomed into the Hemsworth family fold, Miley was seen bonding with Liam's family, including his sister-in-law Elsa Pataky, after the pair had matching wave tattoos done. And while the Independence Day actor has denied that he has set a date for their nuptials he did admit that his on-off relationship with the wild child of music is on an even keel.
"I just find it's easier to not talk about my personal life because usually I say the wrong thing, so it ends up just complicating things more," said the 26-year-old star. "So, I feel like it's better not to talk about it." Pushed on his relationship with the Wrecking Ball singer, Liam told ET simply: "Everyone's happy. I'm happy. Yeah."
While it is rumoured that the couple has set up home together in Malibu, Miley has reportedly been doing her best to play the dutiful wife, even cutting down on her marijuana usage and giving up her party lifestyle to keep Liam happy.
The couple has kept the public guessing with their on-off relationship. Romance blossomed between the pair in 2009 when they starred together in The Last Song. After a much publicized split and a broken engagement in 2013, they rekindled their relationship in 2015, sparking rumours that they had secretly tied the knot during the Christmas holidays.
While there was no Christmas wedding, it seems the singer will finally walk down a sandy aisle with Liam. And knowing Miley, you can bet it will be a wedding like no other.
