The 66th edition of the Miss World pageant will be held on 18 December at The Theatre, MGM National Harbor in Maryland, US. The event will begin at 7pm EDT (12am GMT on Monday). Over 110 contestants from all over will vie for the Miss World crown in this once of a lifetime opportunity.

The ceremony can be viewed live online on the official website of Miss World 2016. You can watch the event by live streaming it on the pageant's YouTube channel as well.

The contestants will compete for the diamond-studded crown and prize money of £76,000 ($94,000). Twenty-year-old psychology student Preston Elizabeth Grant is all set to represent England in the beauty pageant.

This year, the Miss World organisation reintroduced the fast-track system to select the top 20 contestants through various challenges. The events included are – sports, top model, talent, multimedia and beauty with a purpose.

Miss Cook Islands won the sports challenge while Miss China won the Top Model Competition to secure their place as two of the top 20 finalists. Miss Mongolia, Bayartsetseg Altangerel, received the highest number of votes to win the Talent challenge and Miss Philippines won the multimedia challenge to secure their place in the quarter final as well.

The result for beauty with a purpose will be announced during the live event. India, Indonesia, Kenya, Nepal and Philippines are the top five contenders in this section. Out of the top 20, five finalists will be selected based on their earlier performances during the live event and will move on to the final question and answer round. The people's choice award winner will get direct entry to the grand finale and would join the finalists.

Chairman of the Miss World Organisation, Julia Morley will be one of the judges. Last year's winner, Mireia Lalaguna of Spain, will pass on the crown to her successor. The event will be broadcast live on E! and London Live in the UK. The grand finale will be broadcast live in over 200 countries across the world.
