Marc Marquez is back to winning ways and collected his tenth winners medal of the season at the British Grand Prix in Silverstone the last time around.

The second half of the season gets underway at Valentino Rossi's home track and the Italian rider will hope to give his fans something to cheer about with a victory of his own. However, Marquez will come into this race as the favourite, but Rossi and Lorenzo have always been strong on this circuit, with Lorenzo coming to San Marino as the defending champion.

Championship Review

Marquez took one step closer to the championship with his victory at Silverstone and barring a sudden collapse, it should be a matter of time before he is confirmed World Champion.

The Spaniard is ahead of his team-mate Dani Pedrosa by 89 points and with Marquez's consistency should see him manage that gap quite easily.

However, the battle for second place will go down to the wire, with Rossi just ten points behind Pedrosa and Lorenzo a further 30 points behind the Italian in fourth place.
