Motorola is rumoured to be working on a new large-screen smartphone akin to its Nexus 6.

According to a post in Droid Forums, Motorola's latest smartphone will have a 5.9in display and incorporate the same outer structure as that of the Nexus 6.

The device is speculated to sport a 5.9in QHD display, will be driven by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64-bit processor and possess a 4GB RAM.

This handset could be driven by a robust 4,000 mAh battery.

Motorola's non-Nexus large-screen phablet is rumoured to be released in mid-2015 as a non-Droid variant.

US network provider Verizon could offer the 6in phablet from Motorola, the post claims.

In October 2014, Motorola launched a new Droid Turbo smartphone that features a Turbo Charger that powers the battery to operate up to 8 hours, with just a 15 minute charge.

The cost of an unlocked Motorola Droid Turbo is $600 (£382).
