The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City is all set to start on 7 February, at Manhattan's Lincoln Centre, with more than 90 designers presenting Fall 2013 collections.

The Fashion Week will conclude on 14 February. The first day of the semi-annual show will see Veronica Beard and Rachel Comey, followed by Richard Chai, Creatures of the Wind, Duckie Brown and Band Of Outsiders.

As far as what to expect this season, designer Ann Yee told Wall Street Journal she took her inspiration from "unexpected combinations" in her work. Italian designer Manuela Arcari of Hache Brand will be bringing street wear looks to New York for the second time.

"I have flirted with grunge influences to give Hache's aesthetic a new subtle twist and making it contemporary and relevant for today's sensitivity," Arcari said.

Asian American designer Jason Wu, whose gowns have been worn by Michelle Obama, will take to the stage on Friday. Also on the same day, creations from David Neville and Marcus Wainwright's designer cult label Rag & Bone and those by designer Helmut Lang will be seen, according to Vogue.

The weekend will have designers whose collections have been eagerly anticipated, including Prabal Gurung, Alexander Wang, Victoria Beckham, Derek Lam, DKNY, Tommy Hilfiger and Zac Posen.

Beckham, the pop star-turned-designer, has already given her fans a peek into her Autumn/Winter 2013 collection by posting several pictures from her showroom in NYC. Marie Claire had this to say about the inspiration behind Victoria Beckham's newest line: "think bright yellow road lines and a glittery silhouette of a child for her Victoria, Victoria Beckham line".

Celebrities and fashion elite were also seen attending the American Foundation for Aids Research (amFAR) New York Gala, to kick-start the Fall 2013 Fashion Week, at Cipriani Wall Street on 6 February.
