The originals season 3
The originals season 3 will deal with sire lines The CW

In The Originals season 2 left we saw lone wolf Klaus successfully getting rid of Dahlia and her wrath, but that was accompanied with some major backstabbing. Klaus tormented his family, trapped Hayley and the rest of the Crescent wolves under a new curse, forced Rebekah to try to kill herself and stabbed Elijah, as a ruse to take down Dahlia.

However, in season 3 fans would get to see some more characters from Klaus's past and the executive producer of the show has teased that there will be plenty of flashback in the upcoming episodes. Julie Plec told Entertainment Weekly, "We have a whole series of flashbacks over the first chapter that tell the story of the Originals' first year as vampires before the word 'vampire' had even been assigned to them, and them learning what they were capable of, where they could fit in, how they could adopt the manners of a rich and cultured family even though they were tattered Vikings on the run."

"Within those flashbacks, we see the origin story of each of The Trinity, and we understand why The Trinity themselves might have reason to be a little pissed off at our hero family," she added.

Season 3 will focus on the sire lines and would find the Original family dealing with the ramifications of people from their past.

Speaking about Klaus, Plec told The Hollywood Reporter, "The Original family left last season very distant from each other. I'd say Klaus left last season [having] alienated pretty much everyone he's ever met before.

"So the minute this season there's a threat, the question is, is the family going to once again put aside their differences to stand together to fight a common enemy? Or did Klaus' actions shatter that bond too much, and will it keep them splintered? One of the first questions we ask early on is where are Elijah and Klaus going to come to with each other? Will they be able to stand together?" the producer teased.

Meanwhile, executive producer Michael Narducci has revealed that there would be multiple big bad villains in the upcoming season.

Narducci said, "We're going to double-down on this being a vampire show. There's going to be a lot of vampire-on-vampire violence. There's going to be a lot of vampire intrigue. Some of these people will be enemies; some of these people will be allies. And there might be some potential love interests as well."

Further, actor Jason Dohring will be joining in season 3 as a (human) detective and would investigate the supernaturals in New Orleans.
