Rihanna is a known non-supporter of Donald Trump. Before Trump was re-elected, Rihanna urged her supporters not to vote for him. In 2018, the singer's lawyers also sent a cease-and-desist letter to the president's team, urging them to stop using her song, 'Don't Stop the Music', at their rallies and campaigns.

Rihanna and Trump have a long history. It would not have been surprising, then, to see her protesting outside Trump Tower at the Women's March. A video showing a woman who resembles Rihanna protesting outside Trump's building circulated online, making it necessary to do some fact-checking.

Was Rihanna in the Viral Video?

The 29-second clip shows a woman wearing a cap and a hoodie chanting with other women outside the Trump Tower. The unnamed woman in the clip could also be heard chanting 'my body my choice' together with the other women surrounding her. At first glance, the woman looked like the 'Diamonds' singer. But when the camera pans out and shows the woman's frame, it is understandable why some people questioned if it was really her.

Grok's Confusing Response

One X user asked Grok to confirm whether or not it was the singer, and the results were varied. An initial response from Grok claimed that it was not Rihanna. 'No, that's not Rihanna in the video...'

But another response to the question revealed that the video was taken in 2017. During this time, Rihanna joined the Women's March outside Trump Tower, and she could not have been prouder of her decision to do so.

'2017. This is from the Women's March on January 21, right after Trump's inauguration. Rihanna joined the crowd outside Trump Tower in NYC that night, chanting and even dabbing in her 'This P**** Grabs Back' hoodie. Classic clip from the event,' Grok said.

Women's March in 2017, Not 2026

Rihanna also shared a photo from the Women's March that she attended years ago. For the outing, the singer donned a pink long-sleeved hoodie, a pink cap, a pink tutu, and grey pants. 'So proud to be a woman!! So proud of the women around the world who came together today for pro-choice!' she captioned the picture.

The Women's March took place this past weekend, and Rihanna did not protest outside the Trump Tower. But she did in 2017. What upset the singer's supporters is the fact that whoever posted the video made it seem as though Rihanna was at the Women's March on 8 March.

Fans React to Viral Video

One fan claimed that Rihanna had gained a considerable amount of weight, making it possible that the video was from years ago or that it was not her at all. Others said that Rihanna has undergone a notable physical transformation in recent years. Still others called her a queen for attending the Women's March regardless of when.

'My God. This is bravery the likes we haven't seen since the invasion of Normandy. Rihanna may not have a high school diploma, but she is an American treasure,' another fan wrote.

'Love this woman even more now. So much heart,' another person commented.
