Samsung Electronics has unveiled a limited edition model of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge called the Injustice Edition which has its theme based on iconic DC Comics superhero Batman. The edition has been launched in collaboration with Warner Brothers to celebrate the third anniversary of the video game, Injustice: Gods Among Us.
"We are excited to partner with Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment and offer a special edition of Galaxy S7 Edge for fans of Injustice: Gods Among Us. Samsung always seeks to provide the best mobile gaming experience for its users, and this partnership reinforces our commitment to the game's fans," said Younghee Lee, Executive Vice President of Global Marketing, IT & Mobile Division at Samsung Electronics.
The specs and hardware remain the same as the main Galaxy S7 Edge model but the design has been tweaked to suit the Batman theme. While the shape and size of the phone remain the same, the colour of the model is jet black accentuated by gold detailing and an iconic Batman seal rests on the back. As for the UI, many Batman-based customisations have been made right from the skins to the dialler.
The package like the original Galaxy Edge S7 offers a Samsung Gear VR along with Injustice game credit and Oculus VR content vouchers for some lucky birdies. It also comes with a special batman cover as shown in the unboxing video below.
The availability of the device seems quite limited. It will only be available by early June in select territories like South Korea, China, Singapore, Latin America and Russia. As of now, the UK and US are not among the countries on the list but Samsung says it will be announcing more available markets soon.
