Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan who looked headed for a clash at the box office with their movies Raees and Sultan may avoid a showdown. The Dabangg actor's movie Sultan may have to change its release date because of production delays.

A source told BollywoodLife that Sultan, instead of Raees, will be "changing its release date". Sultan will be releasing a week or two later than Raees, the gossip site reported, adding that the SRK movie has nearly finished shooting, while Sultan has a lot of parts still to be shot. Moreover, Sultan's leading lady Anushka Sharma has many of her solo shots with Salman pending, it reported.

Also, background negotiations are taking place between the production houses Excel Entertainment and Yash Raj Films to find a solution to avoid a clash, it added.

Earlier, SRK had said: "I guess we (Raees) could shift. But I don't know the readiness of Sultan. They all are friends – Adi (Aditya Chopra), Salman (Khan), Ali (Abbas Zafar), I know them all. So, if mutually we all can figure out a date where one of us goes a week up or down, we might! Or we might not!"

The Raees actor was recently spotted with Salman on the sets of Sultan in Film City, Mumbai. The two were shooting for their respective movies in the vicinity, it reported. They were spotted hugging and conversing at length, it reported. Also, a few days back the two were seen having a fun chat during the Times Of India Film Awards rehearsals.

As of now, SRK's Raees and Salman's Sultan are expected to release on Eid (8 July).
