The Simpsons poke fun at Donald Trump in a new political clip Youtube

The Simpsons are no strangers to poking fun at US presidential candidate Donald Trump, so another satirical prod at the Republican frontrunner can't hurt, right?

Though the internet is flooded with comical gifs and memes regarding Trump and Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, The Simpsons spoofs never go unnoticed.

The show's endorsement of Clinton has been made clear in previous episodes – as Homer finally placed his vote with the Democrat candidate – and the latest clip sees him actually heading off to the polls.

Homer then becomes suspicious of a Red Sox fan who expresses his support for Trump by describing his chosen candidate as a "good businessman, never sleeps. Doesn't pay his taxes... legally". The said supporter turns out to be Russia's President Vladimir Putin – hinting at him and Trump's reportedly cosy relationship.

According to Putin – who is said to have his own special interests in the outcome of the 2016 election – Trump is already winning by "102%" thanks to the Russian hackers, who expresses his views while topless astride a horse in the animated clip.

In an unsurprising twist, it's revealed that tyrannical tycoon Mr Burns is an avid Trump supporter – even donning the now-iconic T-shirt 'Average Joes for Trump' which Smithers supports superficially with a 'I'm with Him' t-shirt, despite the back soon reveals he is actually a Clinton fan. The hilarious clip ends on the Kremlin making way for a new Trump casino.
