Star Wars Rebels season 2's all-new episode will throw the spotlight on Sabine Wren's Mandalorian heritage as the Ghost team tries to find new hyperspace routes. Episode 11 is titled, The Protector of Concord Dawn, and airs this on Wednesday, 27 January at 9pm ET/PT on Disney XD.
The official synopsis for the episode reads as follows:
The rebels are in need of new hyperspace routes as the Empire closes in. The rebel crew finds a new shortcut near the Concord Dawn system. However, they must gain permission from the leader of Concord Dawn, a Mandalorian protector named Fenn Rau... a task that proves challenging.
The episode will also include more backstory on the Mandalorian artist and weapons expert Sabine. A new promo shows Sabine cornered by a group of armed Mandalorians forcing her to reveal her parentage. Sabine is surrounded by armed men who ask, " Where did you steal that armour from Bounty hunter?" She replies, " Bounty hunter? Not lately. I forged this armour with my family."
"Family? that's an old claim!" says one of the men, and questions, " What's your house?" Sabine proudly declares, "I am clan Wren, House of Vizsla."
However the Mandolorian men call her a traitor, to which Sabine responds: "My mother was, but I am not. I came here to settle a score. And i invoke the code to seek justice through single combat"
"No-one has invoked the code since Empire [has] taken over," says one of the armed men, as Sabine sarcastically remarks, "Well, who is in charge here? The Empire or Mandolore?"
Another promo shows Hera leading the Phoenix Squadron in its A-wings as enemy fighters close in on it. The video opens with Hera and Sabine fighting off Empire's fighters, as Sabine asks, "Hera! Where is that opening?" Hera replies: "Prepare to jump."
It looks like only Sabine will make the jump into hyperspace, and Hera will be left behind, as her ship is severely damaged in the fight.
