[Video] $40 Starbucks Snoopy Cup Sparks Chaos as Woman Cuts Line, Snatches Item From Behind Counter
Limited supplies and a two-per-customer rule have intensified demand for Starbucks' latest Peanuts merchandise

A $39.95 (£29.86) Starbucks Snoopy cup launch has descended into online chaos after a viral video appeared to show a woman cutting a queue and grabbing one of the coveted collectibles from behind the counter.
The footage appears to show the customer moving towards the counter while others waited in line for the limited-edition cup. She then reaches behind the counter, takes a cup, and returns to the queue holding it.
The woman is heard saying, 'I'm a customer, I'll pay!' However, it remains unclear whether the purchase was ultimately processed or what happened after the footage ended. The Starbucks location and the woman involved have not been identified, and the video alone does not establish that she left the store without paying.
Viral Snoopy Cup Video Divides Viewers
The unusual encounter quickly attracted attention online, with viewers debating what happened and whether the woman was simply attempting to guarantee herself a cup before supplies ran out.
'So she went and grabbed one and then got back in line? I am confused,' one TikTok user wrote.
Another commenter claimed the cups were being kept behind the counter and handed to customers only after they had paid, although this has not been independently verified.
Others criticised the woman's apparent decision to bypass waiting customers. 'She could have just waited in line,' one commenter wrote, arguing that employees should not have to deal with customers behaving that way.
Another called the situation 'embarrassing for a cup.'
Some viewers, however, questioned whether customers at other locations had previously been allowed to take display cups and subsequently purchase them, highlighting the uncertainty surrounding exactly what happened at the store.

Starbucks Snoopy Cup Costs $39.95
The viral footage comes as Starbucks launches its limited-edition Peanuts + Starbucks collection for the autumn season.
Among the headline products is a 20-ounce Snoopy Glass Cold Cup priced at $39.95 (£29.86), featuring Snoopy in a pumpkin-coloured hat and seasonal green scarf alongside a Woodstock straw topper. Customers are limited to two Snoopy Glass Cold Cups per purchase.
The collection launched on 15 September at participating Starbucks coffeehouses while supplies last. Its release coincides with the 60th anniversary of the Peanuts television special 'It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown,' which first aired in October 1966.
The wider collection contains 10 products, including drinkware, a Snoopy plush, mini tote, bag charm, and enamel pins.
History Appears to Be Repeating Itself
The scramble for the Snoopy cup bears similarities to the frenzy surrounding Starbucks' viral Bearista cup in November 2025.
The bear-shaped glass cup reportedly sold out rapidly at many locations, with customers lining up hours before stores opened. Better Homes & Gardens reported that merchandise shortages left customers disappointed and that physical altercations broke out at some locations.
Starbucks ultimately apologised after demand exceeded expectations, saying the Bearista cup and other merchandise had sold out quickly despite the company shipping more Bearista cups to coffeehouses than almost any other merchandise item that holiday season.
Some participating stores reportedly received only a handful of the coveted cups. The scarcity also fuelled a resale market, with Bearista cups appearing online for substantially more than their original retail price.
Less than a year later, the scenes surrounding the Snoopy release suggest Starbucks' limited-edition collectibles are once again generating intense competition among fans.
Limited-Edition Starbucks Merchandise Fuels Demand
Starbucks has said the Peanuts merchandise will be available only while supplies last, adding urgency for customers hoping to secure the limited-edition products.
The collection also includes a $32.95 stainless steel cold cup featuring Lucy and Snoopy, a $32.95 (£24.64) Great Pumpkin tumbler, a $27.95 cold cup featuring Charlie Brown and friends, and a $29.95 (£22.39) Peanuts ceramic mug.
Other products include a $34.95 Snoopy plush, $29.95 (£22.39) mini tote, $16.95 (£12.67) plush bag charm, and $14.95 (£11.18) enamel pin set.
For US customers, Starbucks is also offering two limited-time Peanuts-themed drinks through its app: the Charlie Brown Mocha Frappuccino and Snoopy Cookie Frappuccino.
But the latest viral footage has shifted attention from the nostalgia surrounding the collaboration to the lengths some customers appear willing to go to secure one of its most sought-after collectibles.
