Taylor Swift's new song 'Cleveland!' has revealed the meaning behind one of her most unexpected song titles, and the answer leads directly to her husband, Travis Kelce.

The pop superstar released 'Cleveland!' on Friday, 25 September, as part of The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, an expanded edition featuring four new tracks. While the Ohio-inspired title initially puzzled some fans, the lyrics make its personal meaning clear.

Swift sings about Kelce taking her to Cleveland and showing her 'The Heights', an apparent reference to Cleveland Heights, Ohio, where the Kansas City Chiefs star grew up.

Why Taylor Swift Chose 'Cleveland!'

The title appears to celebrate Kelce's connection to his hometown while using Cleveland as the setting for a much broader message about their relationship. In the chorus, Swift indicates that Kelce likes what he likes regardless of what other people think before revealing that he took her to Cleveland and showed her his old surroundings.

She then describes him as the love of her life. Kelce was born in Westlake, Ohio, and grew up in Cleveland Heights alongside his older brother, Jason Kelce. The brothers attended Cleveland Heights High School before Travis eventually played college football at the University of Cincinnati.
