All the latest transfer rumours from Chelsea. The club has confirmed the signing of Valencia winger Juan Mata and are expected to tie up a deal for Mexican international Ulises Davila next week. Chelsea is ready to up their offer for Luka Modric and Liverpool is linked with Daniel Sturridge.

Chelsea are said to be ready to launch one final bid for Luka Modric according to the Daily Telegraph.

The Croatian starlet is said to have met with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy Thursday and has informed the club that he wants to join Chelsea and does not wish to play for Tottenham again, according to reports in the newspaper.

Chelsea are said to be buoyed by the news and will launch a final £40m offer to try and tempt Mr Levy to sell Modric. Chelsea has already had offers of £22m and £27m rejected for the striker but Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas is said to be confident that Tottenham will be unable to turn such an offer down.

Chelsea re also poised to sign Mexicann wonder kid Ulises Davila.

The talented Mexican international is said to be 'the next' Javier Hernandez, who signed for Manchester United last summer, and it is reported he will sign for Chelsea this week but will be loaned to Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem for the rest of the 2011/12 season.

Chelseafc.com has confirmed that the club have said Juan Mata after the player completed a medical Thursday.

The winger has signed for the club from Valencia in a reported £24m deal after turning down the chance to move to Arsenal and Tottenham. The left winger, who can also operate centrally, has signed a five year deal with the club and becomes Andre Villas-Boas' fourth signing of the summer.

Mata scored 43 times in four successful years at the Mestalla and has spoken of his determination to help Chelsea regain the Premier League this season.

"The plan is that I can play on either flank or even in the middle playing in between the lines of midfield and attack. I like to keep the ball and use it well, I am an attacking player and above all I like to set up goals and score them also," Mata said.

"I want to adapt as quickly as possible to my new surroundings, my colleagues and this league, and I would love to win a trophy in my first season. If it can be the Premier League then great," the Spaniard continued.

Despite Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas declaring that he is pessimistic of signing Porto left back Alvaro Pereira, reports today claim the club be close to agreeing a deal for the player.

The full back is said to have told Porto that he wants to leave the club to join Chelsea and team up with Andre Villas-Boas again. Chelsea has failed in a £15m bid for the player but they are considering paying the full £25m release clause to buy Pereira's contract out.

Reports in the Metro claim that Chelsea youngster Daniel Sturridge could be the subject of a transfer bod from Liverpool.

Kenny Dalglish is said to be a keen admirer of the England player and it is believed that Sturridge fits the new transfer policy perfectly. Kenny Dalglish is said to be refusing to rule out bringing further players to the club and the newspaper claims that Sturridge could also be used in a swap deal for Chelsea target Raul Meireles.
