If Drake wants to put to bed rumours he has moved on from Rihanna with Taylor Swift, he might want to try a different strategy. The Views rapper has sent tongues wagging after sharing a snap of himself and the pop princess.

The Polaroid snap captioned: "Is that velvet" and a flower emoji, shows the pair with their backs to the camera, having a conversation at his 30th birthday celebrations. Swift sports a black pencil skirt and a matching crop top that shows off her bare back.

Fans are not keen on the rumoured pairing and have used the comments section of his Instagram page to express their disdain. "Stop the world! I want to get off. Omg wtf," one distressed fan said.

Another simply asked Chamagnepapi to "explain this".

The chart toppers were first romantically linked after being spotted getting cosy at the rapper's birthday party on 23 October, where they were allegedly seen flirting up a storm. A source told Hollywood Life, "Drake was cozy with Taylor [Swift] all night long. They were all up on each other — no kissing — but touching each and other and cheeking."

However, TMZ reports that although he gave her the VIP treatment and introduced her to his mum and several of pals, their relationship was strictly platonic. E! News adds that there was a reason they are spending lots of time together - they are making music. A source said: "The music they have been working on is different," and adds that their work is "very catchy".

The Canadian star and Swift are both back on the dating scene following the collapse of their respective relationships. Just weeks ago Drake proclaimed his love for Rihanna at the MTV VMAs but they are now said to be seeing other people. "They are not exclusive anymore. They still love each other, but their schedules have gotten in the way," a source previously told E! News. "Anything can change between them though, for better or worse. They are still in each other's lives," the source continued.
