Two men have been arrested on suspicion of Syria-related terror offences in Coventry, police said. The men, aged 32 and 26, were arrested Tuesday morning from separate addresses in the city, which are currently being searched by officers.

The pair are being held on suspicion of financing terrorism.

A spokesman said the arrests were part of a continuing investigation, and were intelligence led.

There was no immediate threat to public safety, he said.

It comes after two men, aged 38 and 40, were detained following a raid by West Midland Counter Terrorism Unit at two addresses in Coventry on 3 August.

The pair have been bailed pending further inquiries.
