This Valentine's Day, choose from this list of romantic London spots - from luxe to budget - for what could end up being the most perfect date ever.

A £61,000 dinner at home

For Londoners who want to splash the cash in the comfort of their own home, luxury living website VeryFirstTo and the food lover's publisher GreatBritishChefs.com have come up with a service offering the most expensive, luxurious and romantic at-home culinary experience.

For £61,000, you can enjoy aphrodisiac-infused foods prepared by Michelin starred chef Adam Simmonds. Booking ends today, 13 February.

Dine near the Thames

Dial up the romance by having dinner by the River Thames this Valentine's Day, choosing from a string of riverside eateries.

Eight floors up, there's the OXO Tower Restaurant, Bar and Brasserie. You'll need to book and it's a more expensive option but it'll be worth it when you gaze from you partner's eyes to the views of London below.

Offering equally breathtaking views is the Tate Modern's restaurant on the South Bank. Set up on the seventh floor you can eat reasonably-priced food from a modern European menu while taking in spectacular views of St Paul's Cathedral.

Royal Festival Hall's Skylon restaurant is a South Bank restaurant where you can enjoy a mid-priced romantic meal and sip delicious cocktails while gazing at the Thames.

Less costly riverside options include Strada and Dim T restaurants that look out at Tower Bridge and the Tower of London.

Food at a harbour

A harbour offers a classic romantic backdrop for a special dinner date.

Chelsea Riverside Brasserie restaurant at the luxurious Wyndham Grand London Chelsea Harbour hotel, beside the Chelsea harbour, is offering a romantic three-course meal for £29 per person on 14 and 15 February.

The Valentine's Day special menu features duck two ways, lemon thyme sea bass or grilled tri-tip steak.

Valentine film and fizz

Indulge in a unique Valentine's Day dinner date by watching a romantic film with a three-course meal at One Aldwych.

The hotel's Valentine's Film & Fizz offering is priced at £95 per person and valid only on 14 February. Guests will be treated to screening of romantic comedy Enough Said in a luxurious screening room.

Night out

For a full Valentine's Day dinner date night out, book yourself in at Bitter Sweet Cocktail Bar, located in Kingly Court near Carnaby Street.

The bar is hosting a Valentine's Day party on 14 February that will run on until 3am.

A complimentary bottle of Prosecco is on offer for those arriving between 9pm and 10pm and booking a table for six or more people.
