Walking Dead
The official poster of The Walking Dead season 5 midseason premiere AMC

Fans are eagerly waiting for the next episode of The Walking Dead season 5, which returns early next month (8 February) with the remaining episodes of the season after its brief break.

The first part of season 5 was reportedly the best season of the AMC zombie horror drama, as two major threats were eliminated, including cannibal Gareth and his Termite friends and later the creepy Atlanta hospital crew.

The midseason finale featured one of the saddest moments of the season, with Beth Greene's death leaving Daryl Dixon and Maggie devastated.

Now Rick Grimes and group are scouting the roads, aimlessly and homeless as death looms over them in the form of infected walkers.

As per the current situation of the TWD characters, episode 9 is aptly titled What Happened and What's Going On.

The synopsis of the midseason premiere episode reads:

"After all the recent trials the group has faced, a slight detour might prove to be the solution they've been looking for."

Rick and group are all united, but sadly there is no place they can call home. Moreover, their lives are in danger as zombies are on the lookout for the them.

Their only hope for a safe heaven was Father Gabriel's church, which was torched in the midseason finale after hungry walkers invaded it.

Now, their aim for survival in the zombie infected land is to stay together and search for a roof.

In the recently released trailer Rick says the group: "We do what we need to do, and then we get to live and this will let them find 'hope beyond fear'".

There are rumours that Morgan will come as a saviour for the entire group and he will carry information about the Whisperers, while new character Noah may ask the group to move to his home town, which was safe as it had a wall surrounding it.

Celeb Dirty Laundry suspects that it might be the Alexandria safe-zone, which will be introduced later in season 5.

The Walking Dead episode 9 is written by Scott M. Gimple and directed by Greg Nicotero. It will air on 8 February on AMC Network.
