The wait is over for Japril fans as the fate of their favourite doctor couple Jackson Avery and April Kepner will be revealed in episode 11 of Grey's Anatomy season 12. The couple hit a very rough patch in the previous episodes and fans are not sure whether Japril will reconcile or will further drift apart and file for divorce.
Warning: Potential spoilers ahead
Sarah Drew, who plays the character of April in the popular medical drama by ABC, told TV Line that 'Unbreak My Heart' will totally be a Jackson and April-centric episode that will offer a substantial closure to their relationship. "It's entirely Jackson and April," she told the website.
"To the point where the other actors were exempt from coming to the table read. [Laughs] Other [characters] make small appearances, but it's mainly just the two of them. We go back 12 years to when they were interns at Mercy West and met each other for the first time," the actress added.
However, Drew also mentioned that there will be no shocking moments in the flashback-oriented episode. "There is definitely some sense of closure, yes. You get an answer about the status of their marriage by the end of the episode."
Soon after getting married in the previous season, the couple realised that they have way more differences than similarities. But before they could think of a change in their life, they realised that April is pregnant and that the baby was suffering from Osteogenesis Imperfecta type 2 in the womb. The baby was due to die hours after birth and this would deepen the gap between the two. Their differences increased to such a level that April moved to Jordan in the season 11 finale.
She returned to Seattle three months later, but nothing changed in the couple's relationship. However, the synopsis of the upcoming episode reveals that there will be more flashback scenes featuring the couple, and "probably a conclusion".
The official synopsis of the episode reads as follows:
Grey's Anatomy season 12 episode 11 will airs on 25 February on ABC.
