Scandal season 5 is coming close to its mid-season finale and the recent developments between President Fitz and Olivia Pope suggest an upcoming major twist. Liv is adamant about doing everything in her power to keep the love of her life in power and secretly makes a deal with her terrorist father Rowan Pope and helps him escape prison.

As per the father-daughter plan, Rowan will blackmail the senate judiciary committee who are planning to vote for the president's impeachment. Fitz, however, is unaware of Liv's actions and according to the official synopsis, he will be shocked after learning 'something' in the upcoming episode titled Even The Devil Deserves A Second Chance.

"What's true on our show is what's true in life. That once you commit to a relationship, that's the beginning, not the end. And so it is an entirely new beginning for Fitz and Olivia to exist in a way they've never existed before," Kerry Washington told Stuff about her character Olivia's new equation with Fitz.

Here is the official synopsis of Even The Devil Deserves A Second Chance: "While Fitz is focused on winning back the American people, he makes a shocking discovery. Meanwhile, OPA takes on a new client, but Olivia seems preoccupied keeping her own secrets, and Elizabeth North sets her sights on a new agenda."

The promo of episode 7 reveals that Abby will learn about Liv's secret plans and confront her. But this will have no impact on Rowan's daughter. "How'd you do it? How the hell did you get that information to end the impeachment," Abby asks her. "I don't want to lie to you. Don't make me," Olivia responds.
