Looks like Kareena Kapoor is Bollywood hot shot director Rohit Shetty's most favoured actress who might just replace Deepika Padukone as the leading lady for the Chennai Express sequel, if it gets made.

At the trailer launch of the upcoming Ajay Devgn starrer Singham Returns, when Shetty was asked why he didn't cast Kajal Agarwal (the actress who featured in the original version) in Singham Returns, the director stated that he loves to cast "only Kareena" for all his remakes, reports Bollywood Life.

To which, Kapoor quickly quipped, "So you will be signing me for the sequel of Chennai Express as well, right?"

Even though the actress was joking, it wouldn't come as a surprise if Shetty announced a sequel to his 2013 blockbuster hit, with Kapoor as the lead heroine.

Kapoor and Shetty have worked together in hugely successful films like Golmaal Returns and Golmaal 3 and the duo are expecting to strike gold again with their upcoming release Singham Returns.

"According to me, Rohit Shetty is Manmohan Desai of this generation. He is fantastic. Which actress will not like to work with him? He has given me two of my career's biggest hit films and the third one (hinting at 'Singham Returns') is on the way," Kareena said in an interview with the DNA newspaper.

"I chose to do this film because it is a Rohit Shetty film. I am a fan of him. The role is very nice and he has written specially for me," she said.
