WWE SmackDown results: Did Apollo Crews defeat Intercontinental Champion The Miz?

The latest episode of SmackDown Live saw some exciting matches ahead of the Blacklash pay-per-view (PPV), which is scheduled for 11 September at Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, Virginia. The main card of the event saw Heath Slater and Rhyno take on The Hype Bros, while the American Alpha squared off against The Vaudevillains in the SmackDown Tag Team Championship Tournament. Another match saw The Miz square off against Apollo Crews in a non title match.

The game was an exciting one from the start with The Miz taking the match to Apollo Crews during the initial stages. Crews tried to reverse the moment in his favour but the Intercontinental champion carried out the Skull Crushing Finale and a won via pinfall. Dolph Ziggler was out on commentary for match.

American Alpha vs the Usos (SmackDown Tag Team Championship Tournament Semifinal Match)

Jimmy and Jey Uso kicked off the match as soon as the bell rang. But in the end Chad Gable and Jason Jordan carried out the Grand Amplitude and a won via pinfall to advance to the tournament finals at Backlash.

Heath Slater and Rhyno vs Hype Bros (SmackDown Tag Team Championship Tournament Semifinal Match)

The match saw the two teams go at each other from the very start. However, the Beauty and the Man-Beast came on top after Rhyno carried out the Gore on Zack Ryder for a win by pinfall. Now, Heath Slater and Rhyno advance to the tournament finals at Backlash.

Alexa Bliss, Carmella and Natalya vs Becky Lynch, Naomi and Nikki Bella

Carmella, Natalya and Alexa Bliss defeated Nikki Bella, Naomi and Becky Lynch after Carmella performed the Code of Silence on Nikki Bella for a submission win.
