The empty seats fiasco is well documented and to try and dig themselves out of a hole, the London Olympic Organising Committee has announced the release of thousands more tickets.

Apparently an initial 3,000 - including 600 for the gymnastics – were "put back into the pot" and sold on the London 2012 website last night! Locog's Jackie Brock-Doyle said organisers were doing everything they could to fill seats and release tickets which have been returned

And in the meantime, soldiers and teachers have been filing the empty seats. While sports fans still reckon it's a mess which should have been sorted out much sooner.

Meanwhile some of those desperate for tickets have been duped by ticket touts. The Metropolitan Police say that since the start of the Olympics, they've arrested 29 people they suspect have been trying to make a fast buck by selling forged ones. Eleven of them have been charged and the suspects will be up in court in the next few weeks.
