Joseph Duggar is back in the public eye after posting a $600,000 bond following his arrest on child molestation charges.

The 31-year-old former 19 Kids and Counting star was photographed at Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport on Tuesday, 31 March 2026. He was seen with his father, Jim Bob Duggar, less than two weeks after being taken into custody in Arkansas.

A bail bondsman posted the six-figure sum on behalf of the family, allowing the father-of-four to leave custody despite the gravity of the allegations. He awaits a jury trial in Florida, and his freedom is currently restricted by strict court-ordered mandates that prevent him from unsupervised contact with any minors.

$600,000 Bond, Airport Appearance And Strict Conditions

In photographs obtained by OK! magazine, Joseph and Jim Bob are shown buying takeaway food before moving to their gate area, where they sit and eat together. At one stage, Joseph appears to gesture towards his father as they talk.

Court records viewed by Us Weekly state that Joseph Duggar entered a written plea of not guilty and requested a jury trial. He was subsequently released on a $600,000 bond, which his lawyer, Albert Sauline, said was posted by a bail bondsman 'on behalf of the family.'

'As far as I know, he is flying out of Panama City Beach airport with his father [Jim Bob Duggar],' Sauline told Us Weekly on 31 March, adding that Jim Bob had been in Panama City Beach but not in the courtroom that morning.

The underlying allegations are laid out in stark terms. According to the affidavit described in the coverage, the girl reported that during the 2020 Florida trip, Joseph repeatedly asked her to sit on his lap. She further alleged that he later invited her to sit beside him under a blanket on a couch, where he is accused of inappropriate contact over her clothing. She told investigators she felt 'uncomfortable' and 'confused', and said Joseph 'apologised for his actions' and that 'the incidents stopped occurring.'

Separate police documents reported by OK! state that Joseph later admitted during a phone call with the child's father that he had touched the girl over her clothing and acknowledged his 'intentions were not pure'.

Joseph has been formally charged in Florida with lewd and lascivious behaviour involving the molestation of a victim under 12, and with lewd and lascivious conduct by a person over 18.

After his first court appearance in Florida, a judge set the bond at $600,000, a figure that was later confirmed in the reporting. Once the bond was posted, Joseph was allowed to leave custody under strict conditions. He is prohibited from contacting the alleged victim and is not permitted to have unsupervised contact with any minors, including his own children.

Joseph Duggar Case Draws In Kendra Duggar And Wider Family

While Joseph's legal team has confined itself to procedural steps so far, his parents have responded in broader emotional terms. A spokesperson for Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar said in a statement that the couple were 'heartbroken over this entire situation'. The same statement said they were 'focused on loving their family and helping Kendra Duggar and her children during this difficult time'.

Kendra Duggar, 27, who married Joseph in 2017 and shares four children with him — Garrett, Addison, Brooklyn and Justus — has been drawn into a parallel legal battle. She was arrested on 20 March, two days after Joseph was taken into custody, and the pair were both charged with four counts each of endangering the welfare of a minor in the second degree and four counts of false imprisonment in the second degree.

Kendra was released on a $1,470 bond, according to Us Weekly. A spokesperson for the Duggar family insisted her case was 'a misdemeanour charge totally unrelated to the Florida case'. An unnamed source with knowledge of the proceedings also told the outlet that Kendra's arrest 'has nothing to do with Joseph's molestation charge.'

The same source claimed that child welfare authorities conducted a home study after Joseph was charged because minors live in the house. Inspectors allegedly found two rooms where the locks were fitted on the outside of the doors rather than the inside.

'They arrested her and took her kids for that, saying it's evidence that she wrongly detains her kids,' the insider said.

Joseph Duggar's next court appearance in Florida is scheduled for 20 April. Until then, he will remain under the supervision of the court and his legal team.

The airport sighting came less than two weeks after Joseph Duggar was arrested on 18 March in Arkansas in connection with an incident authorities say took place in Florida in 2020, when the alleged victim was 9 years old.
