Adele is continuing her award-winning streak by leading the nominations for this year's Ivor Novello Awards.

The 23-year-old Someone Like You songstress is being recognised for her songwriter abilities at the awards which are designed to honour and celebrate excellence in composition.

Adele, who already has three Brit Awards and eight Grammys to her name, is up for four awards alongside her co-writers Paul Epworth and Dan Wilson.

While Rolling in the Deep has earned her a nomination for Best Song Musically and Lyrically, her album 21 is in the running for the Best Album.

Rolling In The Deep and Someone Like You are also in the PRS for Music Most Performed Work category.

The London-born star faces fierce competition in the female-dominated album award shortlist from Kate Bush's 50 Words For Snow and PJ Harvey's Mercury Prize-winning Let England Shake.

Her competition for the Best Song Musically and Lyrically award are Florence + The Machine and Ed Sheeran.

The 57th Ivor Novello Awards will take place at London's Grosvenor House hotel on 17 May.

The prestigious annual awards are voted for by songwriters and composers.
