A teenage girl has been left severely disfigured after rivals allegedly vowed to make her 'look like Chucky'.
Julia Alvarez, 15, from the town of Juan Domingo Peron, in the northern Argentinian province of Formosa, was slashed across her face and back multiple times and needed over a hundred stitches.
Two sisters allegedly approached the schoolgirl as she walked home from a friend's house before hitting her and punching her to the ground.
In a statement to police, the young victim claims that they then pulled out knives and revealed that they resented her good looks.
"Everyone says you are pretty. You won't look pretty when we have finished with you. People will call you Chucky," they allegedly said.
Chucky is the flame-haired heavily scarred doll from the Child's Play horror series which is occupied by the spirit of serial killer Charles Lee Ray.
Julia was rushed to a nearby hospital after a passer-by found her covered in blood on the ground.
Her sister Yeno posted images of her horrific injuries on Facebook after police initially refused to investigate the attack.
"They were jealous of my sister for a long time and always abusing her and insulting her, but we never expected them to go this far," she wrote in a message.
"I have tried to stay strong for my beautiful sister but every time I see her I want to burst into tears. They have ruined her life.
"She says she wants to kill herself because when she looks in the mirror she is so ugly now," her sister continued. "It has ruined our family."
Police have since confirmed that they have interviewed two girls over the attack and released a 16-year-old because she was too young. An 18-year-old is still in custody.
The older of pair allegedly claimed that they had decided to exact revenge after Julia insulted them.
