Overview
Villa come into this game after a 4-1 victory over Norwich City in their last league fixture. Wesley Hoolahan gave the visitors an early lead before a brace from Christian Benteke in the space of two minutes put Paul Lambert's side ahead on the half- hour mark.
Leandro Bacuna extended the lead before Sebastien Bassong's own goal gave Villa a comfortable victory.
Meanwhile, Chelsea enter this fixture after a 4-0 battering of Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge. Samuel Eto'o opened the scoring for the Blues 11 minutes into the second half.
Eden Hazard converted from the spot four minutes later, before a Demba Ba double in the final few minutes gave the Blues three crucial points over the north London club.
Chelsea sit on top of the table with 66 points from 29 games, seven ahead of second place Liverpool. The Reds, however, have a game in hand. Villa are 11th, with 31 points from 28 games.
What the Managers Say
Paul Lambert: "Do you know what, there was nothing in [Spat with Mourinho] that at all. We had a laugh and a joke about it afterwards. It was nothing serious. There was nothing in that, people made a lot of it in the way they portrayed it. We had a laugh and a joke as you normally do in football."
Jose Mourinho: "Fernando is much, much better. Maybe I take him tomorrow. Maybe I don't take him and I try everything for Tuesday. You look at the table and if you have just the number of points, the table is fake, because before the number of points is the number of matches."
