Winning captain Kane Williamson (New Zealand)

"We were fortunate to get two wickets which were similar. We adopted similar tactics. It was a pretty tough total to chase on this track. I think it's important to try and read the conditions and then select the side accordingly. Now it is important that we gel well as a group, it's a small transition period. We need to look at the task at hand and perform as best as we can. It's about commitment when you are trying to defend low scores. We take one game at a time and move on."

Losing captain Steven Smith (Australia)

"I thought 150 was about par. Their spinners bowled well and we didn't respond well. We lost wickets in clumps, which you can't do in T20 cricket. We didn't apply ourselves. Probably should have got the ones and twos. We've got to move on from this. We've got the talent, but we've got a lot of work to do. We need to find a way to have some success in those middle overs."

New Zealand bowler Mitchell McClenaghan

It is nice to perform like that, but the effort was collective. The spinners bowled well. We take a lot of confidence from the first two wins and we need to win more to advance. We had to get off to a good start, our spinners brought us back. Australia never give up.

New Zealand players have left the field after the completion of both nation's national anthem. Their openers have ready to walk into the middle as Australia fielders take their position.

Both teams are on their way out for the national anthem. After which, the play will start. In case if you have joined us right now, New Zealand have won the toss and elected to bat.

The last time these two teams faced each other in an ICC event was during the final of the 2015 World Cup, which was won by Australia. Can they emulate a similar display in Dharamsala.

Weather update

New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor

It was definitely a lot of happy team-mates after the game [against India]. But we don't want to get too carried away. It's just one game in what is a short and condensed tournament. Lot of games to be played.

Australia captain Steven Smith

"Yeah, I think you have to have something in mind [for a shortened game]. I don't think a lot of the game-plans or the way each individual plays changes too much but I think you do have to have a few different game-plans if the game is a bit shorter."
