Overview

PSG are currently on a five-match winning run in all competitions and come into this fixture on the back of a 3-0 victory away from home against Bastia in their Ligue 1 clash on Saturday.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic opened the scoring early in the first half while Ezequiel Lavezzi doubled their lead in the 19th minute. The Argentinean then added a third late in the second half to help Lauren Blanc's side remain eight points clear off second-placed Monaco in the league table.

In the first-leg against Leverkusen, the French champions thrashed the Bundesliga outfit 4-0 at the BayArena last month.

Blaise Matuidi netted the first goal in the third minute of the game and Ibrahimovic added a brace before half-time.Yohan Cabaye wrapped up the miserable night for the hosts with a goal late in the second half to ensure PSG hold a comfortable advantage coming into the return leg.

Meanwhile, Sami Hyypia's side halted their five-match losing streak in all competitions by registering a 1-1 draw against Hannover in their last fixture at the HDI-Arena in the Bundesliga. The home side missed the chance to take the lead from the penalty spot as Bernd Leno saved Szabolcs Huszti's shot.

Gonzalo Castro's deflected shot gave the visitors the lead in the 28th minute. But their smiles lasted less than five minutes as Artjoms Rudnevs' shot from outside the box found its way inside the goal.

Leverkusen sit third in the league table with 44 points, having played 24 matches, and are four points behind second-placed Borussia Dortmund.

What Managers Say

Laurent Blanc: "We prepare every match to win, and it's the same for this match against Leverkusen. We are playing at home, we have to stay focused. We have a lot of respect for this team. We have to carry on from our performance in the first leg. You don't play a match in the Champions League just to get it out of the way. We have to carry on from our performance in the first leg."

Sami Hyypia: "We won't have any motivation problems: this is a Champions League game and you don't need to motivate your players. The team needs to build confidence and self-belief, and one way to do so could be with a good performance here. We will play to win, and aim to play without fear and impose our game. Of course it'll be very hard to win, but our goal is at least to deliver a good performance."
