ChatGPT Suggests 'An Adult Diaper' Is a Possible Cause of President Donald Trump's Rear Bulge
ChatGPT says an adult diaper is one possible explanation for Donald Trump's rear bulge, but stresses that no cause for the shape has been confirmed

ChatGPT has suggested that an adult diaper is one possible explanation for the unusual rear bulge seen behind President Donald Trump's suit jacket at a Tennessee rally, although it stressed that no cause has been confirmed. The boxy shape reappeared on Saturday as Trump, 80, danced before supporters after delivering a speech.
The AI chatbot was asked to assess footage of the president at the rally, which was posted on X by White House aide Margo Martin. It identified three possible explanations for the protrusion: poorly fitting clothing, an item beneath the suit, or an adult diaper.
'If you mean the strange, box-shaped bulge beneath the back of Donald Trump's suit, which has been circulating in viral videos and photos in 2026, the honest answer is that nobody has publicly confirmed what is causing it,' ChatGPT said in response to the inquiry.
It added that the diaper theory had become 'a popular online rumour', but that the images did not establish that Trump was wearing one. 'Claims that it proves he is wearing a diaper or concealing a medical condition are speculation, not established fact,' the chatbot concluded.
What ChatGPT Considered
The first possibility raised by ChatGPT was clothing. It suggested that Trump's suit jacket may be bunching or folding awkwardly as he moves, creating the appearance of a rigid shape at the back.
The second was an item beneath the suit. The chatbot noted that some people have speculated about a pouch, medical device or protective equipment, while adding that there is no confirmed evidence for any of those suggestions.
The third possibility was an adult diaper. ChatGPT did not present that idea as fact, but acknowledged that it has become a recurring claim online.
It also offered a practical test for anyone studying the footage. 'One detail matters: does the bulge stay rigid and in exactly the same position as Trump moves, or does it shift and crease with the fabric?' the chatbot said. 'If it stays rigid, that could suggest something underneath the clothing, but it still wouldn't tell us what the object is.'
That is about as far as the evidence goes. A visible shape in a video can invite questions, but it cannot identify an object, diagnose a condition or settle an argument.
Where the Speculation Began
For context, the unusual rear shape was first observed during a 60 Minutes interview in April. It appeared again in video from a Long Island rally posted by former White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
The latest sighting came at a Tennessee rally on Saturday, where Trump danced in front of the crowd after his speech. Martin's video was shared on X and quickly drew attention from users debating what, if anything, was visible beneath the president's clothing.

Theories have ranged from an ill-fitting jacket to a medical device to an adult diaper. None has been confirmed by the White House, Trump's medical team or any independent evidence.
The online reaction has been predictably loud. Some users mocked the footage and repeated claims about incontinence, while others suggested more mundane explanations involving fabric or tailoring. IBTimes UK cannot independently verify the claims circulating on social media, so take everything lightly.
The White House Response
The White House has dismissed the speculation rather than explaining the shape. When the Daily Beast raised questions about the bulge last month, White House spokesman Davis Ingle criticised the outlet.
'Only the glue-sniffing degenerates at the failing Daily Beast would obsessively push baseless conspiracy theories about President Trump, and that's because they suffer from a severe, crippling disease known as Trump Derangement Syndrome that has completely rotted their peanut-sized brains,' Ingle said.
He continued: 'President Trump's sharpness, unmatched energy, relentless work ethic, and historic accessibility stand in stark contrast to what we saw during the last administration when Democrats and the legacy media intentionally covered up Joe Biden's serious mental and physical decline from the American people.'
The statement did not address what caused the bulge. It also did not provide medical information about the president.
That leaves the central question unanswered. The shape is visible in the footage, its cause is not, and ChatGPT's answer was less a revelation than a careful list of possibilities.
An adult diaper remains one theory. So does a badly cut jacket. Until someone with direct knowledge says otherwise, the safest conclusion is the least satisfying one: nobody publicly knows.
