The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall are due to touch down in the Maltese capital of Valetta shortly after 15:00 where they will stay for three days as part of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Summit.

The continuity and importance of the commonwealth has been a life-long priority of the Queen, the head of the international grouping of former British Empire nations. Malta also holds a special place in the queen's heart and was her home shortly after she married Prince Philip and before she ascended the throne.

Thursday 26th November

PM – arrival of The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall.

Her Majesty and The Duke of Edinburgh:

Ceremonial arrival at St George's Square and official welcome by the President of Malta, Her Excellency Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca. Followed by an exchange of gifts and audiences at the President's official residence, the San Anton Palace, Valletta.

HRH The Prince of Wales:

His Royal Highness will attend the CHOGM Business Forum.

HRH The Duchess of Cornwall:

The Duchess of Cornwall will visit Mdina Glass, Ta' Qali

Evening:

The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of

Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, will attend the State Reception at San Anton Palace.

The Prince of Wales, President of The Prince's Trust, will join guests at a reception to mark the launch of Prince's Trust International.

Morning:

The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, will attend the Opening Ceremony of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.

The Queen and The Prince of Wales will host a drinks reception for new Commonwealth Heads at San Anton Palace.

The Queen will hold audiences tbc at San Anton Palace

The Duke of Edinburgh will visit St Paul's Pro-Cathedral, Valletta.

The Duke of Edinburgh will then attend a lunch with the President of Malta for The Duke of Edinburgh International Awards at the Casino Maltese.

The Duchess of Cornwall, Patron of Book Trust, will visit the Read With Me literacy programme at St Thomas More College Primary School, Zejtun.

The Prince of Wales, President of The Prince's International Sustainability Unit, will view an exhibition of the finalists in "Out of the Blue, The Prince of Wales's Commonwealth Environmental Photography Awards" and will award prizes to the overall competition winner at the Maritime Museum, Vittoriosa. The Prince will also attend a roundtable discussion with Youth Delegates in the St Angelo Hall.

The Prince of Wales will attend the Special Executive Session on Climate Action at the Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Malta Golden Sands Hotel.

The Duchess of Cornwall will attend a drumhead service, lay a wreath and meet veterans, sea scouts and service personnel at the Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Kalkara.

Evening:

The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall will attend the CHOGM Dinner, Corinthia Palace Hotel, Attard

Morning:

The Queen, accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, will plant a tree in the grounds of the President's official residence, the San Anton Palace.

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall will undertake a final visit in Mdina, details to be confirmed.

Her Majesty and The Duke of Edinburgh will visit Heritage Malta,

Kalkara, where they will observe restoration work of historically significant paintings, books and textiles, and watch a display of Maltese culture.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh will take a boat trip across Valletta Harbour

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh will arrive at Customs Wharf, Valletta Harbour, where The Queen will unveil a Commonwealth Walkway disc.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh will visit Marsa racecourse to view events and present trophies.
