West Midlands Police force is continuing to search for a yob who pushed a fisherman into a pond at Swanswell Park, after video footage of the attack went viral on Facebook.

The video, which was uploaded to video sharing site YouTube on 23 September, shows the fisherman bending over near pond before a man runs up to him and pushes him into the water. Both the suspect and the man filming the attack can be heard laughing. The clip has been viewed and shared tens of thousands of times and police hope the circulation will help catch the suspect.

Officers are now working to identify the man and the suspect who appears in the video. Inspector Johanna Comer, from Coventry Police, said: "At this stage no one has come forward to us and we would appeal to anyone who knows him or has any information to come forward and contact us. It's unclear exactly when this happened but the video shows a number of people in the area at the time and we would ask anyone who witnessed what happened to call us on 101 as soon as possible."

Anyone with information should contact the Duty Inspector at Coventry Police on 101 or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
