The Dalai Lama has delighted the world with his response to a question about his views on Donald Trump – with an uncanny impression of the Republican nominee.

While speaking to Piers Morgan on ITV's Good Morning Britain show on 22 September, the Tibetan spiritual leader was asked what he thinks of Trump. The Dalai Lama responded that while he has never met the GOP nominee, he could do an impression of him – and proceeded to do so.

The Buddhist leader used his hands to impersonate Trump's infamous hair, as well as the way he speaks with his "small" mouth. Many have since taken to Twitter to compliment the Dalai Lama on his impression, with some labelling it as "uncanny".

Although the Dalai Lama's views might differ from Trump's on a number of issues, he admitted that he would be willing to meet him if he was voted to become the next US president. However, during his interview on Good Morning Britain, he chose to keep the conversation on Trump strictly comical and didn't go into the Republican's political views.

This isn't the first time that the Dalai Lama has evaded the question on Trump's politics. Earlier this year, he was asked by ABC about his views on Trump, to which he responded that he could not vote and was only visiting the US for a short time. However, the spiritual leader did hint that he found Trump's personal attacks against his opponents "cheap".

The Dalai Lama said: "That's your business. A series discussion about policy matters is useful. But sometimes a little bit personal criticism – that looks a little bit cheap. That's my view."
