Emma Stone earned an Academy Award for best actress for her role in the acclaimed La La Land film, but she got an even sweeter tribute in the form of a very unique promposal earlier this year. Jacob Staudenmaier, an Arizona teen, became an internet sensation after he posted a recreation of the film's opening number Another Day of Sun while asking the actress to be his prom date.

Stone saw the video and while she thought the gesture was very sweet, she had to decline the invite due to work commitments. Never one to shy away from a gracious gesture, the Birdman actress did send Staudenmaier a special gift to make his prom that much more special, according to reports.

The teen received a boutonniere and a matching corsage for his actual date from the star along with a handwritten note. "Jacob, a little something for you and your lucky date tomorrow. Have a great time! Much love, Emma Stone," the note read.

The high school student later posted a photo with his date Caitlin Teefy, wearing the floral gifts as they set off for their big night. He also posted a YouTube video about his evening. "I suck at captions but prom was fun except for when our bus driver break checked us and we went flying," he shared.

Appearing on Good Morning America prior to his prom, Staudenmaier shared a message sent to him by the actress. "Jacob, thanks for making the greatest proposal I have ever received. I can't tell you what an honour that was and how much I smiled through that entire beautifully orchestrated video," she wrote. "I'm in London working, but I hope you have the best time at prom, and I'm grateful you thought of me. Thank you. PS I do see Gosling around the eyes. Love, Emma."
