Agents of SHIELD season 4 is all set to introduce Robbie Reyes (Gabriel Luna) as the incarnation of the spirit of vengeance, Ghost Rider. Former SHIELD agent Skye, who has become a fugitive in the aftermath of events of season 3 finale, is now going by the name Daisy. She is set to meet the Ghost Rider.
In season 3 finale, Phil Coulson and his agents successfully defeated Hydra and Inhuman leader Hive. The fourth season of the Marvel series will be tougher for the agents as they are tasked to track down more enhanced people including the flame-licked spirit.
Show's executive producers Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen, meanwhile have teased weak moments ahead for Daisy as she feels responsible for Lincoln Campbell's death in the season 3 finale.
"She[Daisy] now has a fear that everybody she gets close to something bad happens to them. Her self-imposed exile is based both on a need to not have those rules that the Sokovia Accords are hanging over her head, so she can honor Lincoln's belief in her, but also a desire to distance herself from people that she's afraid will get hurt or she will hurt," Whedon told Entertainment Weekly.
"She doesn't have any attachments and she may believe that she has nothing to lose," added Tancharoen.
The official synopsis of the premiere episode reads:
Agents of SHIELD season 4 premiere episode, titled The Ghost, will air on 20 September at 9pm EST on ABC.
