Prince Harry's Children Pulled From UK School After Just Two Days Over Security Concerns

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly pulled their children out of a UK school just two days after classes began, with security concerns said to be behind the sudden change.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made the decision after their private security team encountered difficulties with the daily journey to and from the school.

A spokesperson for the Sussexes confirmed that the move followed discussions about the family's existing arrangements, while stressing that there were no concerns about the school itself.

'The decision for the children to move school was taken following a discussion with the family's security team about the practicalities of their current arrangements,' the spokesperson told Newsweek.

They added that Harry and Meghan were 'extremely grateful' to the teachers and staff for the care their family received.

School Run Reportedly Raised Security Concerns

The problem appears to have been the journey rather than the school. Heavy traffic, combined with the distance from the Sussexes' current home, reportedly made the school run difficult for their small private security team.

According to HELLO! Magazine, the children had enjoyed their first two days and were already getting to know their classmates before their parents decided to move them. But one journey reportedly highlighted the security team's concerns when vehicles accompanying the family struggled to remain together.

That raised questions about whether the same arrangements could safely work twice a day on a long-term basis. The Sussex children have since reportedly attended a taster session at another school in the area.

Harry's Security Concerns Follow Him Back To Britain

The disruption comes shortly after Harry and Meghan returned to England following around six years based in California.

For Harry, however, security in Britain has long been a contentious issue.

The Sussexes stopped receiving automatic taxpayer-funded police protection after stepping down as working royals in 2020. Harry later took legal action over the decision, arguing that the security arrangements made it difficult for him to safely bring his family to the UK.

He lost his Court of Appeal challenge in May 2025.

Harry had previously spoken openly about being reluctant to return to Britain with his family without adequate protection. Now that the Sussexes are back in the country, those concerns extend beyond occasional royal visits and into ordinary routines such as taking the children to school.

Sussex Security Arrangements Face Fresh Review

The timing of the school change is particularly notable as the family's security situation is once again under scrutiny.

The Royal and VIP Executive Committee (RAVEC) is assessing the Sussexes' current circumstances, while Harry is also reportedly undergoing a separate official risk assessment.

Information about the couple's schedules and routines has reportedly been requested as part of the process, potentially putting everyday arrangements such as the school run under consideration.

Harry and Meghan have otherwise kept details of their new life in Britain largely private, including where they are living and where their children attend school. Their return has nevertheless renewed questions about how the couple will balance that privacy with Harry's long-running concerns over keeping his family safe in the UK.
