OpIsis rubber ducks Day of Rage
Anonymous has declared a 'Day of Rage' against Isis by staging a mass-trolling on social media.

Militant hacking group Anonymous has made it its mission to declare "war" on Islamic State (Isis) after announcing plans to hold an official trolling day against IS sympathisers on 11 December.

The campaign called "Day of Rage" will see Anonymous and its supporters take the fight to IS (Daesh) by mocking the group in a number of different ways through social media. It released a statement as part of its OpIsis campaign, which was launched after the Charlie Hedbo massacre in France, stating that Isis "thrive off of fear" and trolling its members "will show them that we are not afraid" and "mock them for the idiots they are".

The uprising is planned around the world, with Anonymous setting objectives for different social media networks for those who want to join the cause.

There has already been a number of mocking memes and photos doing the rounds of the internet with Isis fighters Photoshopped as rubber ducks, cats dressed up and posing as members and Isis sympathiser accounts being spammed by anime pictures.

It is believed Anonymous's OpIsis campaign has already managed to take down 150 Isis-related websites and unmask hundreds of thousands of Twitter accounts of Isis members and supporters. One act saw Anonymous take down an Isis propaganda site and replace it with an advert for Prozac. The hacktivist group hopes this mass uprising will demonstrate "strength in numbers can make a real difference" and that "we will prevail after all their horrors" rather than "hide in fear".
