Kaia Gerber Stays in Hiding as Celebrity Friends Rally at Her Home After Brother Presley's Death

Kaia Gerber has kept a low profile since the death of her brother Presley Gerber, with family and friends rallying around her as she grieves the loss.

Her longtime friend and Palm Royale co-star Laura Dern was reportedly seen dropping off a bouquet at Kaia's home on Thursday, 24 September. The model and actress has not made a public appearance since attending a red carpet event in Los Angeles on 14 September.

The support comes as Kaia's family continues to grieve Presley's death, with the official cause and manner of death still pending further testing.

Kaia Gerber Keeps Low Profile After Presley's Death

The Daily Mail reported that Kaia has been staying at home with family and friends since Presley's death. An unnamed source told the publication that Kaia was struggling to process the loss and that family and friends were supporting her.

'Kaia is very sad; it's hard for her to believe her brother is gone forever,' the source said. The source also claimed that Kaia had delayed some work commitments while dealing with the loss. The source also described Kaia and Presley as 'best friends' and said she has a strong network of friends around her.

The comments have not been independently verified, and neither Kaia nor her representatives have publicly commented on her current situation.

Friends and Family Rally Around Kaia

Kaia's support network has included people from both her family and Hollywood circle. Longtime friend and Palm Royale co-star Laura Dern was reportedly seen dropping off a bouquet at Kaia's home on Thursday.

Dern has worked with Kaia on the Apple TV+ series Palm Royale and has also been a longtime friend of her mother, Cindy Crawford. Kris Jenner also reportedly sent flowers to Kaia and Crawford.

Kaia and Presley Gerber's Close Bond

Kaia and Presley grew up as the children of supermodel Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber before both pursuing careers in modelling.

The siblings remained closely connected as they navigated life in the public eye. They appeared together in campaigns, including Calvin Klein, and were photographed together regularly over the years.

Kaia was last photographed with Presley in Los Angeles on 20 May. The siblings had also spent time in New York during the early stages of their modelling careers before returning to the West Coast.

Their relationship had also been discussed by Kaia before her brother's death. In an August interview for Vogue's September 2026 cover story she spoke about Presley's long-running struggles with substance use and how they had affected the family.

'When something like that happens in a family, it kind of levels everyone,' Kaia said, explaining that she often saw herself as 'the easy one' because she did not want to add to the pressure her parents were already facing.

Presley had also previously spoken publicly about his mental health and addiction struggles, including during a 2023 podcast appearance.

What Happened to Presley Gerber?

Presley died at a recovery facility in Santa Monica on Sunday, 20 September. He was 27.

Santa Monica police are investigating his death as a suspected overdose and said there is currently no indication of foul play. However, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has deferred determining the official cause and manner of death while additional testing is carried out.

The distinction means an overdose remains an investigative finding rather than a confirmed medical cause of death. The medical examiner said deferred cases can take several months before a determination is made.

Presley's family previously asked for privacy, describing the period as a 'very difficult and painful time.'
