De Bruyne has denied suggestions he has picked up an injury.

Chelsea midfielder Kevin de Bruyne has denied reports suggesting a major training ground injury could force him out of Belgium's World Cup qualifying matches against Croatia and Wales and the foreseeable future.

The Belgian international is part of Marc Wilmots' squad for the climax to their World Cup qualification campaign which requires them to earn just a point from their final two games to book a place in Brazil.

But reports emerged following training on Tuesday that De Bruyne had suffered an ankle injury during training and had been rushed to hospital for further assessment on the problem, which was likely to force him out of action for the foreseeable future.

However the Chelsea midfielder, who suffered a pre-season ankle injury prior to starting the Premier League season, has responded to the reports claiming he is fully fit for the games against Croatia on Friday and Wales next Tuesday.

De Bruyne has featured in all eight of Belgium's World Cup qualifiers, in which they've won seven, and was expected to play a pivotal role in clinching qualification to next summer's tournament.

The 22 year old's club prospects have been less than positive however, with De Bruyne frozen out at Chelsea under Jose Mourinho despite being promised a central role in the club's first-team this season.

After spending 18 months on loan at former club Genk and Werder Bremen, De Bruyne was blocked from joining Bayer Leverkusen in the summer as part of the deal which saw Andre Schurrle eventually move to Stamford Bridge, with Mourinho pledging to give him and fellow-countryman Romelu Lukaku regular opportunities.

Lukaku was sent out on loan to Everton on deadline day and after De Bruyne started two of Chelsea's first three league games, the ex-KVV Drongen man has been exiled following a poor performance in the League Cup win over Swindon Town and subsequently forced to train with the club's Under-21 side.

While the player's agent has denied that De Bruyne will leave the club in the January transfer window, Breman have offered to save him from his Chelsea nightmare. Borussia Dortmund have ruled out a move however after being linked with his services in the summer.
