Lumia 950, 950 XL get new update
New firmware update rolling out to Lumia 950 and 950 XL Microsoft support

Microsoft is rolling out a firmware update to more Lumia 950 and 950 XL users. The update, bearing build version 01078.00053.16236.35xxx, that started earlier this month is now live for Lumia users in the US and Canada.

As Microsoft has already made it clear, the availability of the update might depend on the phone model, region and network service provider. While the first batch of phones already have the update, the remaining ones are expected to receive it gradually.

To manually check for the latest firmware build on Lumia 950/950 XL, head over to Settings>> Update & Security>>Phone update >> Check for updates.

The new firmware build of Windows 10 Mobile improves Wi-Fi connectivity and bundles fixes for issues where the Wi-Fi connection used to drop randomly and Wi-Fi scan occasionally would not return any result. It includes double tap to wake feature. You should also notice improvements to Bluetooth connectivity, the overall stability and reliability of the Lumia phones.

Other key elements in this release are improved image, video quality and auto-focus as well as fix for the problem that caused slow motion capture to skip frames for some users. After installing the new firmware, you should see your cellular connectivity improve. Also, the occasional network loss issue is now resolved. You will no more face the video call audio scrambling problem, and the audio quality has improved.

According to Windows Central, which first reported the rollout, some users of unlocked Lumia 950 are receiving a similar firmware in the North American region.
