David Moyes has confirmed that Anderson is on his way out of Manchester United on loan as the midfielder undergoes a medical at Fiorentina.

The Brazil international has featured just eight times for United this season and after struggling for regular game time since joining the club nearly six years ago it would appear that the 25 year old is after a new challenge.

And Moyes confirmed in his pre-Chelsea press conference that Anderson is set to exit the club on loan, telling reporters: "We've not been able to get him as many games as he'd have hoped."

Anderson was pictured having a medical with Fiorentina on the club's official Twitter account and granted he passes, he is expected to join up with the Serie A side immediately.

Fiorentina are currently fourth in the table and with 15 points between themselves and top-placed Juventus the title looks to be an unrealistic goal now but a Champions League spot is still up for grabs.

The side will be hopeful that Anderson can find his winning touch that appeared to be lost in recent seasons at United with injury affecting his form as well as a lack of consistency.

Anderson signed a four-and-a-half year deal with United in the 2010 season, tying him to the club until June 2015. With 18 months to go on that contract the South American will likely be keen to show off his skills and secure a deal elsewhere soon.

The move won't likely upset United fans though the addition of a midfielder would probably be far more appreciated by the Old Trafford faithful rather than seeing one of their players in the middle of the park depart.

Moyes has been connected with a number of moves but so far the manager hasn't commented on speculation, suggesting no deals are close as yet.
