A murder investigation has been launched following the discovery of a woman's body in Norwich.

Police were called to the property in Godric Place at around 2.30pm on 29 July after reports from neighbours who were concerned about a woman inside.

When officers turned up at the property, they discovered the body.

The two-storey building has since been cordoned off and a full murder investigation launched.

A post-mortem took place on 30 July, which revealed the victim had appeared to have been subjected to a sustained assault.

Following the discovery, two men and a woman have been arrested in connection with the incident and taken into custody for questioning – where they remain at the present time.

Detective Inspector Neil Stewart, who is leading the enquiry, said: "We are in the early stages of our investigation and working to establish the sequence of events which led to this woman's death.

"There are a significant number of lines of enquiry which we will continue to pursue over the coming days which will include house to house enquiries in the local area."
