A schoolgirl in Peru suffers from convulsions whilst being treated by doctors CEN

Nearly 100 schoolchildren in northern Peru are suffering from so-called 'demonic possession' cases that has caused pupils to suffer shocking seizures and convulsions. The affected children say that they have seen visions of a man in black trying to kill them during terrifying hallucinations.

Local doctors have failed to explain the strange happenings that are accompanied by fainting episodes and screaming, affecting more than 80 children at the school. According to local reports the Elsa Perea Flores School in Tarapoto, northern Peru, the school was built on a Mafia graveyard.

The strong muscular convulsions began in April and has affected children aged between 11 and 14. Video footage recorded at the school shows screaming children being taken by trucks to nearby hospitals.

Doctor Antony Choy told national channel Panamericana TV: "We don't understand how this has kept on going on. We know it started on 29th April and now it is still happening. Now there are almost 80 pupils [still affected]."

Some locals think that the spooky incidents are a case of demonic interference believing some of the children may have invoked evil spirits. But, as it stands there are no official explanation as to what is happening.

Elsa de Pizango, a concerned mother said her daughter was affected, she said according to the Metro: "She fainted in school. They didn't say anything at the hospital. She just fainted. She keeps on spitting froth from her mouth."

An unnamed pupil at the school said: "It's disturbing for me to think about it. It's as if someone kept on chasing me from behind. It was a tall man all dressed in black and with a big beard and it felt like he was trying to strangle me. My friends say I was screaming desperately, but I don't remember much."

Another anonymous girl, aged 13, told a local TV station: "Several children from different classrooms fainted at the same time. I got nauseous and started vomiting. I heard voices. A man in black chased me and wanted to touch me."
